THE STORY
Beaulieu Vineyard winery lies in the heart of Napa Valley in the tiny town of Rutherford. Their original stone building dates back to 1885, and though its historic exterior walls remain intact, their carefully designed additions house a thoroughly state-of-the-art winemaking facility. Here they have tirelessly pursued the bold expression of their distinctive Napa Valley terroirs through a philosophy of innovation. Sometimes innovation has included the most modern techniques, such as the hand spinning of oak barrels in their new Georges de Latour Private Reserve Winery; other times innovation has meant a return to time-honored European methods, such as the malolactic fermentation and oak barrel aging they introduced to the growing Napa Valley wine industry some years ago.
