Robert Mondavi believed that the path to a more gracious lifestyle leads through the appreciation of wine, food, and art. He believed that Napa Valley could be the center for that lifestyle, producing wines that belonged in the company of the great wines of the world, and wines that belonged at the family table.
In 1966, emboldened by boundless enthusiasm, he built the first major winery in the valley since prohibition: Robert Mondavi Winery. Since then the open arch of the Robert Mondavi Winery has welcomed thousands of guests to share in Robert’s passion.
Through tireless winemaking innovation, an uncompromising eye for quality and unshakable faith in California’s vineyards, Robert Mondavi realized his vision of creating a collection of the most recognized and best-loved wines in the world. More importantly, he realized his vision of Napa Valley as the center of the worldwide wine and food culture that has enriched the lives of millions.
Winery Tours & Tastings
The Robert Mondavi Winery was one of the first to welcome visitors for tours, events, concerts and tastings. Since then, our visitor programs have become world-renowned. The winery is open to visitors daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and closed on Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. Spotlight Wine Club
Members of the Robert Mondavi Winery Spotlight Wine Club enjoy carefully selected wines from the Robert Mondavi Winery and the occasional selection from its sister wineries. Most wines will be small production or winery-only-wines, mixed in with a few old favorites like the Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve or the Oakville District Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as the special offering from a sister winery, such as a pre-release of Mount Vedeer Reserve or Franciscan Magnificat. Membership consists of either two or six bottles per shipment, each delivered to your home or office six times per year. In addition, members receive complimentary tastings when visiting the winery, discounts on all wine purchases (a very small number of wines excluded), invitations to special events at the winery, as well as dinners and tastings across the country.
